Photo Book Review: Petcam, The World Through The Lens Of Our Four-Legged Friends

These days we consider dogs, cats (and other animals, both large and small) to be much more than just pets, they are our beloved four-legged friends and full-fledged members of the family. Many pet parents have often wondered what the world looks like from their fuzzy pal’s unique vantage point. What do they do when we aren’t around and where do they go? Questions like these are answered in the book Petcam: The World Through the Lens of our Four-Legged Friends by Chris Keeney.

For this project, pets were equipped with small, lightweight cameras around their necks. The cameras helped to transform them into skilled photographers on a mission to document their daily lives—snapping candid shots as they explored and played. The book features a collection of images captured by 20 pets including Coulee a Border collie golden retriever mix from Canada, Fritz a tabby cat from Germany and Walter and Hamlet a pair of (siblings) mini potbellied pigs from San Diego, California. Keeney even includes a tip section and a list of resources for those who wish to test out the PetCam with their own four-legged friends.
