Aerial photographer Chris Dahl-Bredine was one such dreamer, and while he’s not sure how big a role the flying dream played in his eventually becoming an ultralight pilot, he’s certain it was a significant factor. And, once he began flying, he reports—as do other pilots (the author included)—that the dream simply stopped. He considered becoming a licensed private pilot so he could fly light planes but once he experienced the thrill of ultralights, he realized it helped him recapture the dream: flying like a bird, wind in his face, view unencumbered by a cockpit.

California-based photographer/diver Alex Suh is someone you could conservatively describe as “fearless.” He has a passion for the ocean, and as you might suspect from his amazing images, he says he has always been fascinated with sharks—particularly the Great White. 

Tom Oldham has been shooting portraits for 20 years and is today widely known for his expertise in medium format photography, notably with Hasselblad camera systems. He began his freelance career at the age of 29, having worked as a technician at the Plymouth College of Art for a few years after completing his studies there.

A recent Internet sensation, this series of heart-warming images expertly captures the many outdoor adventures of Kelly Lund and his best friend—a playful wolf-dog hybrid named Loki. This duo has done it all, from hiking through the woods to climbing rugged mountains. Kelly and Loki have been the perfect team for a number of years and in this interview learn how it all began and how their photos have ignited the Internet. 

One the most fun things I’ve ever done was to photograph the 24 Hours of Le Mans car race in France. Of course, I was shooting it as an amateur with very limited access to the track, the cars, and the pits. And I did go back to the hotel to catch a little sleep at one point. (But it was still fun nonetheless and I got some great shots.)

Ottawa, Canada is home to Daniel Picard, a talented graphic designer and a noted photographer who has a true passion for pop culture. An avid collector of high quality action figures and statues, Picard expertly integrates these pop icons into his photography by posing them in various action scenes and comical situations.

Born in 1829, Carleton Watkins was perhaps the greatest of early American Western photographers, yet his images are largely unknown today. His photographs of Yosemite Valley and throughout California’s Sierra Nevada mountains have been compared by some to those of Ansel Adams that followed.
