Nitish Kumar Meena Took a West Coast Train Trip and Returned with These Stunning Travel Photos
Nitish Kumar Meena’s day gig is designing software solutions for Microsoft, but in his off time he’s an adventurous travel photographer intent on capturing our world’s natural wonders.
Instead of his usual modes of outdoor travel by foot or kayak, Meena recently made a 12-day train journey from Seattle to San Francisco for a different perspective on photographing the West Coast. And as you can see from these images, a train journey might be something we should all consider.
Explaining his passion for travel, Meena says, “Travel is the best way to make your ‘now.’ There’s something about travel, you wake up in a new home each day, finding local places to eat and meet people.”
Meena’s 12-day sojourn took him from icy, snow-capped peaks to hot sandy deserts and from gray skies to sunshine. Along the way he saw the Pacific Ocean as well as hidden lakes.
“I enjoyed every single moment of my journey,” he says, “walking carefully on the snowy roads of Portland, the sunshine after the rain in San Francisco, and watching people riding waves in Los Angeles.”
So the next time you consider taking a photography excursion, maybe you should think of the words “All Aboard.”
