Epson Launches 44-Inch SureColor P10000 Printer for Mammoth Photo Prints

Epson is still thinking big. The company just unveiled the 44-inch SureColor P10000 printer, which is designed for “large photographic and fine art fulfillment needs.” The 44-inch P10000 comes on the heels of the Epson SureColor P20000, a 64-inch photo printer, launched in January 2016.

The Epson SureColor P10000 uses an 8,000-nozzle PrecisionCore MicroTFP print head, a revamped media feeding system, and reformulated Epson UltraChrome Pro nine-color pigment ink system, which are designed to provide fast production speeds and top-notch print quality. Epson said the new SureColor P1000 offers output speeds “2.8 times faster” than the competition.

The Epson SureColor P10000 uses the new 2.6-inch tall, 10-channel PrecisionCore Micro print head capable of printing at up to 2,400 x 1,200 dpi. Combined with the new Epson UltraChrome Pro nine-color pigment ink system, the SureColor P10000 provides outstanding color and black density, Epson said in a press announcement.

Epson UltraChrome Pro is the first pigment ink set to feature four-levels of gray ink technology, including Gray, Light Gray, Dark Gray, and Black pigments, which are designed to provide seamless transitions with less visible noise and reduced bronzing for superior grayscale output, Epson said. In addition, the SureColor P10000 utilizes improved Resin Encapsulation Technology for output with superior gloss uniformity, and exceptional overall contrast ratio and clarity. Epson claims this latest generation color pigment technology “significantly improves overall print permanence – resulting in prints with exceptional ability to preserve the legacy of the artist.”
