Disillusioned with the practice of law, Brian Ingram found himself forced to reexamine his professional path in life. So, at a critical juncture, Ingram chose what to him was the road “less traveled by.” And, to further quote Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken,” it “has made all the difference.” Sparked by the gift of a Nikon D40, Ingram chose photography to be his new profession, and this new path revitalized his outlook on life.

That's what the above chart based on CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association) statistics seems to show, with a steep drop-off in camera production in recent years, particularly compact cameras, which have started to disappear as smartphones take over.

We were at Sony’s press conference yesterday to unveil the blazing fast RX100 V compact camera and afterwards we got a chance to try out with this speedy little bugger. The biggest headline about the Sony RX100 V is that can shoot at 24 frames per second, which is the world’s fastest continuous shooting speed for a compact camera and faster than even the most expensive professional digital SLRs on the market.
