Nikon issued an official service advisory this morning for its D750 in the wake of complaints from some photographers that the DSLR produces a dark shadowy band in images with lens flare.  The Nikon service advisory includes a way for photographers to check serial numbers for D750s that might be affected by the problem.

By now you’ve undoubtedly heard about Nikon’s new high-res, high-speed D850 DSLR and hopefully read our hands-on report. And now, thanks to Nikon Imaging Japan, you can feast your eyes on these sample images that provide an impressive taste of what this 45.7-megapixel powerhouse can do.

Nikon launched a new digital SLR and two long lenses at CES tonight. The company unveiled the D5500, an advanced amateur DSLR sporting a 24.2-megapixel CMOS sensor with no optical low-pass filter (OLPF) and a new 3.2-inch varia-angle LCD touchscreen on back.

The fix is in! Nikon announced this morning it's offering free inspections and repairs for D750 digital SLRs affected by a problem where a dark shadowy band appears in images with lens flare.

In a short press announcement this morning, Nikon said it's developing a forthcoming full frame (aka FX-format) professional DSLR called the Nikon D5. The D5 would be the follow-up to the 16-megapixel full frame Nikon D4S, which was announced in February 2014.

Nikon announced tonight it is developing the D850, which is the company’s “next generation full-frame, high-resolution, high-speed digital SLR.” The Nikon D850 will be the successor to the 36.3-megapixel D810 that made its debut back in 2014.

Nikon launched the 24.2-megapixel D7200 DSLR for photo enthusiasts and semi-professional photographers tonight. The D7200 uses an APS-C-sized “DX-format” CMOS sensor that’s essentially the same chip as the one in the previous model though it has been “slightly optimized” for the new DSLR, according to Steve Heiner, a Nikon USA spokesperson.
