The 45.7-megapixel D850 is Nikon’s first DSLR with an FX-format (aka full frame), backside-illuminated CMOS sensor with no low-pass filter, which is designed to shoot high-quality images and video even in low light. The D850 can capture 4K UHD at 24/30 frames per second (fps) that’s output at a full-frame width of 16:9, allowing widescreen 4K clips at a true field of view.

Nikon introduced a new entry-level DSLR this morning: the small, lightweight and portable Nikon D3500. Weighing just under 13 ounces (camera body only), and with dimensions of 4.6 x 3.9 x 2.8 inches, the 24.2MP Nikon D3500 is designed to be a highly portable camera for first-time DSLR users including “parents, travelers and photo enthusiasts,” Nikon said in a press announcement today.

Nikon issued an official service advisory this morning for its D750 in the wake of complaints from some photographers that the DSLR produces a dark shadowy band in images with lens flare.  The Nikon service advisory includes a way for photographers to check serial numbers for D750s that might be affected by the problem.
