We all hear about so-call “hidden” editing tools that deliver great results. But while many of these methods are effective, some are quite familiar to photographers of all skill levels.

Like many photographers recently, landscape pro Mark Denney has been playing around with the new settings in Adobe's recent Lightroom 10 update and what he's discovered has left his mind slightly blown. According to Denney, there's a new tool in Lightroom 10 that "will forever change how you develop color in your landscape photos."

With every new update of Adobe's Lightroom comes a host of new editing tools, some good, some less important, and some secret. Well, not exactly secret secret but more like hidden or overlooked or buried and easy to miss.

Even Lightroom experts probably don't use half of this powerful imaging software's tools and features. Indeed, Adobe has packed so much editing firepower into Lightroom, most of us barely scratch the surface of what it can do.

There are a number of compositional tricks photographers use to emphasize the main subject in a photograph. Another way to achieve a similar result is to use Photoshop to throw the background out of focus.

The headline above is sure to raise some eyebrows but you read it right. Photographer Deke McCelland says, "I've been using Photoshop since Day 1 and I never use the crop tool. Don't get me wrong, I crop my images but not with the Crop tool, let me explain."
