Zeiss Launches Batis 25mm F/2 & 85mm F/1.8 Lenses with OLED Displays & Autofocus

Zeiss has just introduced the Batis 25mm F/2 and 85mm F/1.8 lenses for Sony's A7 series mirroless cameras. The lenses, which are formally known as the Zeiss Batis 2/25 and Batis 1.8/85, are equipped with OLED displays and autofocus.

The close focusing distance of the 25mm wide-angle Zeiss Batis 2/25 is designed to offer uniform image quality right into the corners of the image. The lens is ideal for shooting landscapes, architecture, street scenes and photojournalism.

Zeiss Batis Auto Focus (AF) lenses were developed for use with mirrorless, full-frame system cameras by Sony. The lenses are compatible with all E-mount cameras and offer protection against dust and splashes of water in addition to fast and easy autofocus. For creative work, the distance and depth of field can be read from the OLED display.

Zeiss Batis 1.8/85 is a telephoto lens with a speed of 1:1.8. The optical image stabilization allows for hand-held shooting even in poor light conditions.

With a focal length of 85mm, the lens is a good choice for portrait, event, and wedding photography. Compact and easy to use, the Zeiss Batis lenses are designed to support the most creative image composition, whether manually focused or auto-focused.
