Watch a Landscape Come to Life as Heavy Winds Cause a Forest Floor to "Breathe" (VIDEO)

We don’t know about you, but if this happened to us when we were out shooting landscape photos, we might have had a heart attack! In the eerie video below shared by The Weather Network, strong winds blowing through a woodland area in Sacre-Coeur, Quebec this week make it appear that the forest floor is “breathing.”

“While forests don't breathe per se, the trees that reside in them do, by taking in carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen in a process called photosynthesis,” according to the Weather Network.

“But unlike humans, this process doesn't involve inhaling and exhaling -- which is exactly what the forest floor in this video appears to be doing. 'Breathing' forests aren't uncommon, and we've received a few videos of the phenomenon over the years.”

Breathing forests might not be uncommon but they sure are strange. And oh look: Halloween is right round the corner!
