Tom Brady: Watch This Slow-Motion Video of an Over-Inflated Football Exploding at 28,000 FPS

It’s almost Super Bowl time, so we thought we’d turn to Gavin Free and Dan Gruchy (AKA the Slow Mo Guys) to see what happens when an over-inflated football explodes while being captured at hundreds of times slower than you can see with your own eyes.

The Slow Mo Guys use a $150,000 Phantom v2500 high-speed digital camera to make simple, ordinary things seem really impressive, as they did in the video below shot at 28,000 fps. They started by over-inflating what Europeans call a football, and moved on to the pigskin version that we consider a “real football” here in the U.S.

The results are pretty amusing, and you can see more such insanity on the Slow Mo Guys YouTube channel. And be sure to take a look at another of their videos we posted awhile back of a Canon DSLR’s speedy shutter captured at 10,000 fps.
