Sigma’s new 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports zoom lens delivers in a big way. Among all lenses that reach 600mm it has the greatest zoom range at 10X. This potent professional tool has a few surprise features, too.

The newest version of Canon’s workhorse, full-frame DSLR, the EOS 5D Mark IV, offers a brand-new 30.4MP sensor system, while its forerunner used a 22MP sensor. The new sensor offers Dual Pixel Raw images and new Raw converter software, Digital Photo Professional 4. In addition, the new sensor offers Dual Pixel CMOS AF, which first appeared in the Canon EOS 70D and is helpful when shooting in live view mode or when recording videos.

I’ve been intrigued by Canon's EOS M6 mirrorless camera ever since a trip to Florida last year when I saw a YouTuber vlogging with it. I was impressed by the Canon M6's compact size as well as the quality of the video footage he created when I viewed it later.

The last Canon mirrorless camera I reviewed was the EOS RP, which at the time of introduction was billed as the world’s least expensive full-frame mirrorless model.  The subject of today’s review, the 45MP Canon EOS R5, is a totally different animal that also makes a preemptive claim as Canon’s "most advanced full-frame mirrorless camera ever."

The Canon EOS Rebel SL2 is a small and lightweight entry-level DSLR: 4.82x3.65x2.75 inches in size and weighing in at 16 ounces without the lens (including the battery and memory card). The SL2 features a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and a vari-angle touchscreen three-inch LCD. It also sports Dual Pixel CMOS AF with phase detection and has a low-pass filter.

If you’ve been lusting after a full-frame mirrorless camera, but thought you couldn’t afford one, it’s time to reconsider. That’s because the new Canon EOS RP is significantly less expensive than other full-frame mirrorless cameras, yet boasts an impressive array of advanced features, robust weather-resistant construction, and impressive performance to boot.

I’m one of those guys who likes to sit down with a new camera, peruse the manual, familiarize myself with the controls, and configure my custom settings before heading out on a maiden voyage. But shortly after arriving in Newport, RI, to join a group of journalists testing Canon’s new EOS-1D X Mark II flagship professional full frame DSLR, I was handed a camera and a bag of lenses and off we went.

While it might seem unusual that a camera can be both mirrorless and have a medium format size sensor, that’s exactly what Fujifilm has created with their new GFX 50S. The 51.4MP CMOS sensor size is 43.8x32.9mm, 1.7x the size of the sensor in a full-frame DSLR; the body is decidedly mirrorless, lacking a pentaprism finder and replacing it with an EVF and a tiltable rear LCD.

Fujifilm just unveiled its new top-of-the-line X-Pro3 camera and Shutterbug was one of a handful of media outlets to get to test out this rangefinder-style camera. We've included some of our hands-on photos of this handsome, retro camera along with ten of our test images and some of our thoughts and impressions on this new Fuji model in this first look review.

It’s been a great couple of weeks for mirrorless camera introductions with the debuts of the Nikon Z 7 and Z 6 and the recently announced Canon R. To top things off, we got to spend some hands-on time with yet another new mirrorless camera, the 26MP Fujifilm X-T3, the successor to the X-T2.

Hello Shutterbug readers! We’re excited to tell you about a brand new feature we’re launching called Top Clicks. Top Clicks is where we’ll single out our favorite photo gear, whether it’s a new camera, new lens, new photo bag, accessory or piece of imaging software for being best in class and anoint it with a (soon-to-be) coveted Top Clicks award, the icon for which you see in this column.

Leica just announced the SL2, a 47.3-megapixel mirrorless full-frame system camera, which is the successor model to the esteemed Leica SL (reviewed here), and Shutterbug was invited to take a preproduction model for an early spin. Let’s take a look at the Leica SL2's long list of new features before we recap some of our thoughts and impressions about this new Leica model in this first look review.

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 FL ED VR, by its name alone, sounds like something special. And for those who love wildlife or sports photography, this lens may, indeed, be something special.

Creating photo books on American railroads are a good part of my workload, so telephoto lenses are what I often turn to for my train photography. Extremely heavy and often dangerous, locomotives and rolling stock require a wide berth for safety’s sake. Furthermore, in the wake of the September 11th attacks, security has tightened around railroad property, demanding more distance between the photographer and subject.

My contention has always been that a real live camera affords superior image quality over any smartphone. But you know that already, especially when it comes to optical options, low-light capability, high ISO, video capability, and, perhaps most importantly, the experience of being able to see what you are shooting (through the optical finder of a DSLR) in bright light.
