Fujifilm just introduced a new compact camera, which it hopes can compete with the onslaught of smartphone cameras. Called the Fujifilm XF10, the pocket-sized, lightweight (just under 10 ounces) camera has a Fujinon 18.5mm F2.8 fixed lens.

We knew it was only a matter of time before more videos surfaced showing the insane zooming capabilities of the new Nikon Coolpix P1000. We shared one of the P1000’s 125x (24-3000mm) zoom lens capturing the surface of the moon and now here’s one in more prosaic surroundings.

Call it a super-duper-zoom camera. Nikon raised the bar again tonight on how much optical reach an all-in-one camera can have by unveiling the Coolpix P1000, which has a built-in 125x optical zoom lens that’s equivalent to a 24-3000mm zoom.

Panasonic just unveiled the newest addition to its rugged TS Series of compact cameras, the LUMIX TS7, which is designed for shooting in tough, wet and wild conditions.

At first glance, the new Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III appears to be either a not-quite-pocketable compact camera or an extremely svelte mirrorless model with a built-in zoom lens. And if you squint your eyes, it even resembles a miniature DSLR.
