The 2012 Phase One Digital Artist Series (PODAS) international photography workshops are now open for enrollment. Each of the ten all-inclusive photo excursions is limited to less than 25 participants. All feature a hands-on learning environment amidst breathtaking surroundings, and for the first time, French and German speaking workshops have been arranged.

Unique to PODAS, each participant will be loaned a 60-megapixel IQ160 camera system for the workshop duration. The system comprises a Phase One 645DF camera body and IQ160 back. A full set of Phase One lenses will also be available. Participants will receive a copy of Capture One Pro software, as well as several final 30x40 prints of their work and a camera bag. Ambitious shooting excursions will be complemented by seminars on topics ranging from visualization to composition, capture, workflow and presentation.

based on Sensor+ CCD technology co-developed with DALSA Semiconductor. This

Phase One pushed its rustically modern A-series medium format camera system into the stratosphere yesterday with a new 100-megapixel model. Called the A-series IQ3 100MP, Phase One worked in collaboration with Alpa to create this new camera system.

Phase One announced it has joined forces with Sony to design a new 100MP CMOS sensor for the new Phase One XF 100MP Camera System. The Phase One XF 100MP Camera System is shipping now and is available through the company’s sales partners worldwide for a whopping $48,990 USD. (The system comes with a Schneider Kreuznach 80mm LS lens.)

Phase One released Version 8 of its Capture One Pro at photokina this morning and the updated imaging software features a host of new tools designed to better process and edit Raw photo files. Phase One also said there’s a new subscription plan available for Capture One Pro 8 though, unlike the latest version of Adobe’s Photoshop, you can still buy the software outright.

Phase One announced immediate availability of the Phase One P 40+ -- the company’s second Sensor+ enabled digital camera back/camera system. Like the P 65+ introduced last year, this new system offers two separate image-capture modes. In normal mode, the P 40+ delivers full 40 megapixel captures for high-quality image details. And when shooting conditions demand, a photographer can push a button and instantly switch from 40 megapixels to 10 megapixels, gaining a four-fold increase in light sensitivity (ISO to 3200), and a capture rate of up to 1.8 frames per second --an ideal performance for hand-held and/or low-light conditions.
