Eastman Kodak Company has expanded its image sensor portfolio for medium-format
camera manufacturers with announcement of the KODAK KAF-18000CE, a new 18 million
pixel image sensor. This sensor has been selected by Pentax Corporation for
use in the PENTAX 645 Digital camera now being developed. With 18.6 million
total pixels, the sensor provides an output resolution of 18 megapixels to capture
images with exceptional clarity and detail. New to the KAF-18000CE is a dual-output
architecture that enables faster sensor read-out times, allowing camera designers
to achieve increased frame rates in their final camera designs. With this unique
combination of image quality and speed, the KAF-18000CE is said to provide manufacturers
with an affordable image sensor that is ideal for landscape, fashion, or wedding
photography.

of weather, or when surfing, etc. you are probably going to be interested in
the Pentax Optio WP. This small, 5-megapixel camera has a 3X zoom, a 2.0 inch
low reflection LCD, 10MB built-in memory, quick start-up, a nine point autofocus
system and captures movies at 30 frames per second in JPEG format.

Pentax has unveiled a new limited edition "Prestige" version of its K-3 digital SLR with a distinctive gunmetal chassis. According to Pentax, the K-3 is a special edition camera created to commemorate “the many awards bestowed upon the K-3” by photography publications and websites.

Pentax’s parent company, Ricoh Imaging, has been teasing that it would be announcing a new full frame digital SLR for several months now and today that phantom camera was finally unveiled. Ricoh just introduced the long awaited Pentax K-1, which is equipped with a 36.4-megapixel full frame CMOS sensor about the size of a piece of 35mm film.

The new Pentax Optio A10 is the company's first model with an 8MP CCD
packaged in the signature slim, lightweight, stylish design of the Optio digital
camera line. The new flagship camera features an innovative Shake Reduction
system that utilizes two internal gyro sensors to detect camera shake while
a dedicated CPU calculates the required correction to compensate for the level
of camera shake while focusing. In turn, a proprietary mechanism adjusts the
CCD to compensate for the camera shake and deliver sharp images.

If you’re looking for a way to power up Photoshop, you might want to consider Perfect Photo Suite 9, a plug-ins package unveiled today by onOne Software. We reviewed Perfect Photo Suite 8.5, last month and liked this photo editing and effects app quite a bit. Version 9 of the Suite, which will be available in late October 2014, adds a number of new features and upgrades including faster Raw image previews, re-editable image files, and improved selection tools.
