Sigma Debuts 24mm F/1.4 Art Lens and 150-600mm Contemporary Lens (Hands-On Photos)

We recently got some hands-on time with the two newest lenses in Sigma’s arsenal: the Sigma 24mm F/1.4 DG HSM Art lens and 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary lens. Both lenses, which will be available in Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts, go on sale this month at relatively decent prices considering their impressive specs.

The Sigma 24mm F/1.4 DG HSM Art lens has a street price of $849. In comparison, the Nikon 24mm f/1.4 goes for $1,929, while the Canon 24mm f/1.4L II sells for $1,649.

The Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary has a street price of $1089. That’s only slightly more expensive than a similar Tamron lens in the same focal length – which we reviewed last year – but competively priced compared to telephoto zooms from Canon and Nikon (though neither company offers the same, monstrous 150-600mm focal length.)

Sigma is also selling a tougher Sports version of the 150-600mm F/5-6.3 DG OS HSM lens, which is designed for greater durability and to help capture fast action scenes. That Sports lens goes for $1,999.

Despite the very competitive pricing of the Sigma 24mm F/1.4 DG HSM Art lens and 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary lens, they both felt very solidly built and of professional grade during our hands-on time with them.
