Photo Book Review: “Bettie Page: Queen of the Curves” with Photos by Bunny Yeager

Photographer Bunny Yeager first attained fame as a beautiful and popular pin-up model in her own right—one of the most photographed in Miami. Upon retiring from her successful first career in front of the lens, Yeager soon embarked upon a new endeavor by expertly transitioning from subject to artist.

Her prior experience gave Yeager a unique perspective that allowed her to build good working relationships with her subjects, creating a celebrated and extensive body of work. One of her most noted subjects was the 1950’s pin-up icon (the stunning and infamous) Bettie Page.

Page began her career in the early 1940’s—modeling fur coats—but it wasn’t long before she began to pose for pin-ups and soon photos of her were being published in various magazines. Eventually leading her to working with top photographers like Yeager. The book, Bettie Page: Queen of Curves explores the work of both of these talented ladies.

Offering us a collection of 250 color and black and white images of the raven-haired beauty with the trademark bangs. The images (shot in Florida) were taken from Yeager’s own extensive archive, many have never been seen before and all have been carefully reproduced and color corrected for this tribute to both photographer and model.
