I do rock art (indian petroglyphs) and knownig the location of images is important to me and others doing rock art research.

Would use it on vacations to foreign countries, and in the USA.

Call me a Luddite if you must, but I don't need a gps system to locate where I made an image - it's enough for me that I did. If the where is really important to me, I'll remember it.

This is a feature I would very much like when I buy a new DSLR. Hopefully, it would be built in and stores the metadata with little or no extra work.

I want to use it but I have yet to find a system to use with my Canon G9 that is easy to use, effective, affordable, AND works in the areas in Asia where I travel. I have done lots of research. What I do need to know is the product that meets all four criteria.

Use routinely for navigating, recording sites (photo, camp, view, etc), and to add GPS data to metadata at time of capture.

I can see how the location would be beneficial, but why not use a tape recorder or other recording device as photos are taken? Sometimes the story of a photo is forgotten, not just the location.

I would like to learn to use GPS.
