To answer your question, KDR, this shot was taken in the Petersen Automotive Museum (a few blocks from Shutterbug's LA offices on Wilshire Blvd). I had to wait a few minutes until the escalator was empty in both directions.

Great shot. I think the ceiling lights at the top really completes the visual trip up your picture.
