I am in the process of developing a Pencil (and sometimes other objects) water drop series. This series was a happy accident. It all started when I was attempting my first try at water drop photography. The instructional video on youtube that I previewed stated that in order to achieve sharp focus on the drop the photographer should prefocus and set the focus on a pencil tip that is placed approximately where the water drop will potentially fall. While I was pre-focusing, I took a few shots of the pencil and LOVED what I saw. This is one of the images that I shot on that very first day, the inspiration for the rest of my series. This happy accident prompted me to think about what else I could photograph within a water drop falling off of a pencil tip or other objects. The experimentation with objects and backdrops is so much fun! This photo was shot with a sigma 105 macro lens and a nikon d7100 dslr.
