Finally ... A clear night. The Veil Nebula, also known as the 'witches broom' is high in the eastern sky these summer nights in the Constellation of Cygnus. It is a supernova remnant, about 2400 light years away, and difficult to capture as the light that it emits is mainly of one wavelength from doubly ionized oxygen best seen through a O-Ill filter (not in my possession). The alternate name is due to its visible filaments that resembles the straws of a broom. I think I can see them. To bring out some definition, it seemed this time a shorter exposure with higher iso worked better than a longer exposure at lower iso. Captured with a Canon R7, rf100-500 f4.5-7.1, iso 6400, 500mm(800mm equivalent), f7.1, 30 sec exposure.
