I was coming home along 25E from the Blue Ridge Parkway and as I made my way over a bridge I noticed a very large nest on an old telephone pole that was sticking up out of Douglas Lake. I thought it might be an eagles nest so I pulled over and walked back over the bridge. The telephone pole was almost eye level with the bridge and as I got closer this Osprey popped up. I was so surprised, they are so rare in our area. We have lots of Eagles, but this was the first Osprey I had ever come across.
