I was quietly reading in my hotel room in Jakarta, Indonesia when I heard thunder approaching. It seemed like there was lots of activity in the skies and the time between lightning bolts was very short. I looked out the window and saw the natural spectacle in front of my eyes. I immediately went to get the tripod and camera and started shooting lots of 15 second exposures. This image is a composite of 3 photos chosen amongst the 90 or so photos I took.
