Whitewater Draw in Southern AZ is the most prolific locale for sandhill cranes in AZ. Morning and evening they take off and land in mass to feed on the grain and protect themselves from predators in the shallow pools. I wanted to capture the intensity of the moment with all the cranes taking off in varying stages of flight.
