DSLR vs Mirrorless: Which Is Better, Canon EF 85mm f1.2L II or Canon RF 85mm f1.2L Lens?

Canon has not one but two elite 85mm portrait lenses: the Canon EF 85mm f1.2L II and Canon RF 85mm f1.2L. The main difference between these two portrait masters is that the EF lens is designed for Canon's DSLRs while the R lens is made for its new full frame mirrorless camera line.

But how do they stack up image quality-wise? Is the performance relatively equal? What about price? Photographer Matt Granger teams up with model Stephanie Pham to put the two ultimate prime lenses to the test in the below shootout video.

Will the legendary EF 85mm f1.2, aka the "grapefruit" lens, win out? Or will the newcomer, the slick and sweet RF 85mm f/1.2 triumph? Interestingly enough, when paired with a Canon 5D Mark IV and Canon EOS R, these respective portrait prime combos are both quite large, heavy, and expensive.
