MindShift Gear released two new rotating backpacks for travel and trail photographers at photokina today: the MindShift Gear rotation180˚ Travel Away and rotation180˚ Trail packs.

The MindShift Gear rotation180˚ Travel Away is a rotating backpack created for global travelers and rugged outdoor enthusiasts. Designed with security in mind, only the wearer may rotate the concealed beltpack to the front to access valuable gear and important personal documents. The Travel Away bag is crafted from 420D velocity and 420D high density nylon, Ultra-Stretch fabric, 350G air mesh, nylon webbing, strong YKK zippers and features a water-repellent (DWR) outer coating and a polyurethane coating on the underside of the fabric.

The rotation180˚ Travel Away is a 2-in-1 bag system (backpack and beltpack) that is large enough to qualify as a personal carry-on item for air travel. The backpack measures 11.8x20.1x7.1” and weighs 2.2 pounds. Large enough to hold extra clothes, food and assorted travel items, it features dedicated pockets to conceal a laptop (up to 15”) and a 10-inch tablet, a side compression strap for trekking poles or a small tripod, locking sliders on the main compartment to secure valuables with a travel lock (not included), a rear pocket for a camera or other items, an Ultra-Stretch pocket for a water bottle, a breathable padded airflow harness with an adjustable sternum strap and attachment points, a curved back panel with a single aluminum stay for pack stability and an optional rain cover (sold separately). The beltpack measures 10.2x6.7x2.0” and weighs 0.6 pounds. It is large enough to hold an 8” tablet, a large point-and-shoot camera, small electronics, ID, food and more.

The smaller and lighter MindShift Gear rotation180˚ Trail backpack is made for outdoor adventure photogrpahers. Designed to function as two bags in one, the removable easy access beltpack is large enough to safely accommodate your D-SLR (or mirrorless) camera system, an 8” tablet, binoculars, maps, food, a GPS device, a smartphone, a radio and more. Other features include a dedicated zippered hydration compartment for a 1.5 liter reservoir (or a 2 liter CamelBak reservoir), a front stretch pocket, a top pocket for small items, a mesh stretch pocket for a water bottle, a bike light attachment and an optional rain cover (sold separately).

Crafted from such durable materials as: 420D velocity and 420D high-density nylon, nylon 100D shadow ripstop, 210D velocity nylon, Ultra-Stretch fabric, 350G air-mesh and featuring a water-repellent (DWR) outer coating, a polyurethane coating on the underside and strong YKK zippers. The rotation180˚ backpack measures 9.4x21.3x5.9” and weighs 1.7 pounds. It is large enough to hold a jacket, a hat, gloves, extra clothes and food. The beltpack measures 9.1x7.1x5.1” and weighs 0.8 pounds.
