This cactus plant was purchased for 25 cents as a baby in a 3-inch pot. I liked it because it had a colorful flower on its top. (That turned out to be made of paper.) After replanting several times into larger pots, it has grown into a six-foot giant. This backlighted photo taken was taken with a Nikon D70 and a 28-200 mm Tamron lens at 150 mm when the cactus was just a toddler. The exposure was f/8 and 1/40 sec.
