For this image, I got an unexpected trip to Rome. I knew I would have a full day to explore the city and planned to make the most of it. As I was leaving the hotel, I discovered that I had received a schedule change and needed to leave by 11a.m. that day. I had to hit the ground running and make the most of my available time. I headed out at 6a.m. on a Sunday and as a result was able to capture this scene of St. Peter's in the early morning light with the building lights still on and only a couple of barely visible people in the scene.
Sony A99 Tamron 24-70USM 2.8 1/50sec at f 4.5 ISO 6400. Slight tweaks for exposure, vibrance and contrast in Lightroom.
