I had a beautiful quiet morning at Fontana Lake in North Carolina. The fog was so thick and it would open in random spots, but when it opened up you got a view like this. This was taken along the Lakeshore Drive heading to the tunnel to nowhere, now the Lakeshore Drive is a road that comes out of Bryson City, NC. It leads to a completed National Park Service tunnel, but the road ends at the end of the tunnel. The road was never completed because of environmental issues. Needless to say, this road is not visited to much and remains a hidden gem of the Smokys. Along the road are stunning views of Fontana Lake and the beautiful Smoky Mountains.
