The new wizard interface guides you through calibrating your display. Each step of the way is clearly explained but if you do get confused you can always back up.

Curves control is easily done for those who want to tweak the default settings. For most people, this won't be needed, but it's nice to know it's there!

(Left) On-screen instructions show you how to calibrate LCD or CRT monitors--no guessing required here.
(Rright) Once you place the colorimeter on the screen and press Continue, the Spyder2 software takes over and begins to measure colors automatically. The entire process takes about 20 minutes. The device reads red, green, blue, and gray values as well as checking the black and white points for your monitor.

Before and After displays show a dramatic difference over what I had thought was a very accurate profile. Impressive!

If you need to have consistent color use across applications, the bundled Pantone colorist makes it easy to match up colors using the Pantone Color Matching System. Even color challenged people like me can pick complimentary colors!
