"Withstanding Time:" Last month, I went to Sedona to do some night sky photography and I found this weathered tree that I thought to incorporate into the celestial landscape of star trails that show the passage of time. The bit of moon helped illuminate the tree and Sedona's red rocks. While shooting there, I wondered how much time that tree had withstood, its bark now partially peeling away, but its barren limbs still outstretched as they were during its life-bearing years when full of foliage . . . likely many, many star trails ago. Nikon D180, 14-24 lens, about an hour's worth of exposures.
