Shutterbug Photo of the Day: “Pair of Puffins” by Joe Gliozzo

Our Shutterbug Photo of the Day is an adorable shot by by Joe Gliozzo of a pair of affectionate puffins.

“While visiting Machias Seal Island recently, I was able to observe over 3,000 Atlantic Puffins in their nesting grounds. For a brief moment only, I was able to photograph two being quite intimate. It was the only time I witnessed this for the 90 minutes I spent in the tiny bird blind made available to us,” writes Gliozzo.

The images were captured with a Nikon D810, a 70-200mm lens (with a 1.4 tele extender at 280mm), f/4, 1/2500th of second, f/5.6, ISO 500.

Congratulations Joe. It is one of my favorites from the ones you have shown. Very well deserved.
