Crystal River begins with the flow from crystalline clear springs that flush the river with over 500 million gallons per day. The river meanders to the Gulf of Mexico from Kings Bay through harsh impenetrable jungle to huge open expanses of Florida's Gulf Coast salt marshes. While homes are beginning to encroach from the east, there are places along its banks that one would be wise to leave as they beautifully are, as nature made them.
