"Joshua Split" is an infrared image that was created of a huge boulder in Joshua Tree National Park near Palm Desert, CA. I made a number of different compositions of this unusual formation. But I found that this one best emphasized the huge, diagonal crack and the fine textures of the rocks. I was also attracted to the small pieces of rock inside the crack that were illuminated from the light filtering through the split.
Equipment:
Nikon D300 converted to IR
Nikon 10-24mm @ 10mm
