This view of Death Valley is from Aguereberry point at an elevation of 6,344 feet. Pete Aguereberry, an early prospector to the area (1905), built the road up to this overlook that he called the "great view", or otherwise folks might not be making the rough drive up there today (no 4x4 required, though it helps). He was fond of guiding visitors up to see the view and it is spectacular.
