This photo was taken while on tour in Cuba this January. Our tour guide had been telling us how hard it was to make ends meet and feed his growing family. On this day we were in a home having a presentation by someone familiar with the alternate religions practiced in Cuba. The juxtaposition of the tour guide and the caged face with a sword seemed apt and was not posed. Natural lighting was obtained from a nearby window. I used my trusty Canon 7D with a Sigma DC 18-250 mm zoom. The shot was handheld. Settings were 1/40, F8.0, ISO 250, 37mm. Conversion to B&W was accomplished in Lightroom.
