A short drive up and off the Left bank of the Rhine river from more popular "tourist" castles lies the ruins of Stahlburg castle. More of a fortified watchtower/outpost of the more popular castles in the area, this was a perfect spot for my 5 year old daughter and I to picnic and spend the afternoon playing, "princess and the dragon".
