MJ Herself
Spiderman fans brace yourself: This MJ is just as talented with a camera as
Peter Parker. MJ's spectacularly designed site (www.maryjanephotography.net)
is a reflection of current wedding photography trends that take a more natural
and fun approach. Her photography is collected in three galleries: Weddings,
Children, and Events. Clicking any of them starts a slide show of images that
you can control to examine each in more detail. MJ's Wedding work successfully
blends photojournalism, romance, and whimsy to produce images you wished you
had of your own wedding. The Children gallery captures idyllic moments in a
child's life, preserving images of kids being kids, instead of the stiff,
forced smiles found at mass-production studios. Events contains the kind of
bread-and-butter work that most portrait and commercial photographers do and
MJ proves she's up to the task. The Bio section contains information about
MJ and her philosophy along with a casual portrait that tells potential clients
that she's the kind of photographer with whom they'll enjoy working.

Take Your Camera To Work Day
It's that time of year again. The third annual Take Your Camera to Work
Day is May 21, 2005, which also happens to be Armed Forces Day. Maybe we can
get images from present and former members of the military service to honor
all those who served and are serving this country. Last year, I partnered with
a major photo sharing website and many people reported it was too difficult
to upload images, so this year I've gone back to the original system.

The Take Your Camera to Work Day website (www.takeyourcameratoworkday.com) is a place where amateur and professional photographers can post images made beginning at midnight on May 21st. It provides a snapshot of the world on that date and, unlike other day-in-the-life-style projects, anyone can participate.
