Action portrait of my friend Bert, and his Custom HD FLSTS Heritage Springer. Took 2 trips around a 6 mile route making numerous exposures from the back of a pick-up truck. I had originally planned to use front lighting, shooting from the other (left) side of the bike, but Bert firmly insisted that I do the opposite since the right side was the bike’s best side. (A lesson in motorcycle aesthetics.) This backlit, fill flashed version turned out much better than originally intended! Junction of Highway 11 and Keaau Bypass (Highway 130), Hawaii Island.
