Nice result. I have a neat method that works with blue and other colors that I would like to share with you. From the bits of technical description, I would say that you're going to understand the process once you try it.
Here's the difference, my method here takes about 6 seconds on average and the edges in fine detail are perfect.(bet that caught your attention) :)

Save the image and I know it's big, so delete this comment when you're done. (or leave it for others it's up to you)

Before starting, Make sure your [b]Layer Window[/b] is open. With photoshop open, [b]press F7[/b] to open and close layer window. If anyone wonders about the name ViaMoi on it, he said I could. :)

Thanks for the info - however I don't use photoshop I use PhotoStudio 5 by Canon - it come with my camera. Are you familiar with this program? I had Photoshop and found that PhotoStudio was easier to navigate and amature friendly.

spittingimages I have PhotoStudio 5, but use PhotoStudio 2000, the most. I can do about any thing with it and do it fast.. I'm still stumbling a bit in 5..
I do wonder why the removed the .gif extentions in 5?

Sorry for the lousy guess. I'm just so used to everyone using Photoshop these days, or an extension of photoshop that I just thought you were too. :)

I checked quickly into PhotoStudio and found that it is a layer program and you should be able to do the same thing as above, just not with the hotkeys. (but try some of the hotkeys)
Many programs out in the public share resources like hotkeys and functions.
Basically, Make a new layer with an open image.
Make that layer Black and white. (to start with)
Look for "Layer Options" either under a "LAYERS" tab on your tool bar, or a window on the side.
Look for the option "Lighten" and select it.
Then merge or flatten everything together.
The Black and White layer should be made using a filter, you've probably seen the options in making a B/W image before. Choose blue filter if it's an option, if not just stick with the B/W and see what comes out.

for another effect, you could hand Lasso each eye and clone the real eye in..

Very Cool - they look almost like rainbows. I did used the lasso to cut the eyes out of the black and white picture and then layered the colored picture that I had changed the hue to blue. I have learned that using Photostudio you just have to play with the picture to get what you want - I have been working with it for about 2 years now and have learned alot!
