Walking around the open space near my house with my Nikon D3400 and an 18-55mm lens on a cloudy day, I looked up to see this blackbird sitting in a tree. I loved the contrast of the dark branches against the gray sky, and started shooting. This was one of the images, and I loved the bold black against the gray. It reminded me of an ink painting, and I loved the accent of the bird as it looked away, following the sweeping curve of the branch.
