In 2011 my wife and I took a cruise to Nova Scotia which happened to leave from Brooklyn, NY. The afternoon sky was ominous and we anticipated some rain as the ship left port. We were on an upper deck enjoying the sights when I noticed we were soon going to pass under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. I quickly moved to a less congested part of the ship and decided to go for it. I fired off 3 images attempting to get the centered position I envisioned, and just as I started shooting the sky broke apart with a setting bright sun and darkish blue clouds casting an eerie red glow under the bridge. Bingo, nailed it with my second frame.
Shot with my (then) Nikon D300, Nikon 18-200 lens set wide and vertical at 18mm, 1/250th sec @ F/8, ISO 200.
The shadows and saturation were tweaked in Photoshop. A great trip!!
