I grew up on this river and spent hundreds of hours in peaceful reflection and juvenile and adolescent fun and games on the river. Once a part of the Red River, it was dammed up at the beginning of the 1900's and became a 31 mile lake. The entire area is long in history and many thousands of tourists flock to Natchitoches, La., to view the serene quality of the town and its ageless waterway.
I shot this one summer afternoon with a Nikon D-300, Nikkor 17-55 Zoom, opened it in CS-2, and added Nik filters to the final file.
