I have a backyard, bird feeder, smorgasbord setup that attracts quite a large collection of birds. It sometimes also attracts predators that enjoy the potential dinner treats concentrated in a small area. On this occasion, the Cooper's Hawk was unsuccessful but he hung around to pose for an impressive portrait.
The photo was taken with a Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon 600mm f4.0L IS II lens, mounted on a Wimberley gimbal head and Gitzo tripod. The exposure was: 1/2000 second, f5.6, ISO 1600.
