298 State Street is directly across from Kodak Tower in Rochester NY. Built in the early 20th century as the Rochester Button Factory, once the largest of it's kind in the world.
I worked at Eastman Kodak when it was the thriving, bustling center of Rochester's business community. Upon returning to the area for my 50th high school reunion I trekked downtown to grab some images of my former place of employment now hollowed out by the digital revolution. The Tower, as always, was impressive but my eye was soon caught by the late afternoon sun warming the bricks across the way. I recalled seeing this doorway from half a century ago. Men wearing fedoras and women in headscarves to protect against upstate winters. A doorway to my past opened up that afternoon.

My only editing on Photoshop Elements 7 involved cropping and a slight saturation push. The "Golden Hour" did the rest.
