The Grand Canyon Railway only rolls out its venerable steam engine on holidays and special occasions. We learned that it would run on Arizona's 100th Anniversary of Statehood on February 14, 2012. In spite of a snowfall the night before, we drove to Williams, Arizona, to watch it load. Ladies in Harvey Girl costumes and men dressed as Bill Williams Mountain Men boarded the train. We then chased it all the way to the Grand Canyon catching it at several crossings, arriving in time to see it puffing it's way through the snowy woods toward the South Rim depot.
