Suburban foxes are frequent subjects of UK photographers, but we seldom see foxes in Davis, California. So I was surprised to spot this Sacramento Valley Red Fox as it explored our backyard. The photo was taken through a window (clean, luckily) with a Nikon D600 and a Nikkor 70-200 mm f/4 VR lens at 180 mm. The exposure was f/8 and 1/250 sec.
