I feel that you need to incorporate the surroundings when photographing animals, sometimes the surroundings can be just as important. I love shooting landscapes, so I try to incorporate that into the image with the animals when I can. The vast openness on the mountains in Grayson Highlands is known as the place with the ponies so it is synonymous to have them together.
