This photo was taken in July of 2016. I am a native Long Islander and I didn't realize that you could see it on the Island. It was the first time I had ever experienced seeing the Milkyway in person and I was amazed at how bright and bold it was right in my own "backyard". This was shot with a Nikon d750 and a tamron 15-30 2.8 at 2.8.
