A new tradition? Maybe, but I'm not up on these things. I'd like to provide my own story/hypothesis. Perhaps someone embarrassed the groom about his brown wingtips with the blue suit. The bride saw his consternation and told him, "Don't worry, I'll make sure no one notices."
